So I've created this blog to share the reef tank that my family and I have enjoyed over the last few years. I've had the tank going for about three years at the present location and it seems to be settling quite well.
Here are some pictures of some of my favorite inhabitants of the tank and a few full tank shots.
Click on the pics to view larger sized images.
This is my clown pair and a damsel that I've had since the tank started. Some rics and purple mushrooms in the back along with my frogspawn.
This is a frogspawn with disc-shaped polyps. They have a reddish center and white tips, really rare coloring.
The big frogspawn. That thing is the size of a bowling ball!! And the back side that we can't see is just as full. There's a smaller piece below it and an even smaller piece to the left that I've since moved across the tank.
Here's a leather and a red lobophylia. The frogspawn to the left I've since sold. That white thing on top is my version of a DIY eductor. It probably works but I don't know how much I like it. The water stream is much more diffused though so that's cool.
Here's a near shot of the big frogspawn. Look! It's my gigantic brittle star waving hi from the interior of the frogspawn. When I bought his he was maybe 4" across now that guy is a little over a foot wide. He never leaves that coral, we just randomly see his arms from time to time.
Here's a nearly full tank shot. I've since moved that green frilly mushroom rock at the bottom to under the return on the right. Check out the sand sifting star right next to it though. He rises from the sand every once in awhile and says hi.
Full tank shot. Gives you an idea of where everything is.
Here's my setup next to the other hobby I have. A dart frog tank sans dart frogs 'cuz they're so stinkin expensive. Maybe someday I can talk Nat into getting some. For now it's got a crested gecko in it. To the right you can barely see my favorite little girl.
Here's a good left side shot. That's the cave where my coral banded shrimp spends most of hiw time. If he comes out someday I'll get a pic of him for you.
Here's one with a good shot of the bubble coral. I haven't had that one long but he loves evenings and feeding time. The sweeper tentacles come out and make him look twice as big.
